Alberta Policy Coalition for Chronic Disease Prevention (APCCP)

The Alberta Policy Coalition for Chronic Disease Prevention (APCCP; formerly the Alberta Policy Coalition for Cancer Prevention) represents a broad range of practitioners, policy-makers, researchers and community organizations who have come together to coordinate efforts, generate evidence and advocate for policy change in order to reduce chronic disease in Alberta. Specific objectives include:

  • Increasing the capacity of policy makers and decision makers in Alberta to use policy as a strategy for cancer and chronic disease prevention.
  • Providing leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of policy related activities for cancer and chronic disease prevention.
  • Facilitating practitioners, policy-makers, researchers and community organizations from various sectors working together to enhance public acceptance of policy-related activities.
